In the past, Crisis used empty buildings as shelters but these required a lot of work to install the necessary infrastructure and make the buildings functional. Now, Crisis prefer to use buildings in use that just happen to be empty over the Christmas period. Schools are ideal for this. The picture shows the City of London Academy which has been used as a Crisis Christmas shelter in the past.
