Behind the Scenes at Crisis at Christmas
I spent five years working as the official photographer for national homeless charity Crisis, documenting life inside the Crisis at Christmas shelters. Safe refuge is only part of the story. Each shelter offers a wide range of services and facilities, made possible by a huge army of volunteers willing to give up their Christmas to help others..
Crisis used to use empty buildings such as the London Arena and the old Leadenhall tower but now prefers to use buildings with all the infrastructure in place, such as schools typically empty over Christmas.
This gallery showcases the incredible work they do and offers a rare glimpse of life inside the Crisis Christmas shelters.
